An Ayurvedic consultation is a meeting between a patient and an Ayurvedic practitioner where the practitioner assesses the patient's state of health, including physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Ayurvedic consultation differs from other forms of healthcare in several ways:
Holistic approach: Ayurveda looks at the person as a whole, taking into account not just physical symptoms but also mental and emotional well-being. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of the body, mind, senses and soul and the importance of balance and harmony in achieving optimal health.
Personalized treatment: Ayurvedic practitioners take the time to understand each patient's unique needs and create a personalized treatment plan accordingly. They take into account the patient's individual body type, constitution, and lifestyle.
Natural remedies: Ayurveda uses natural remedies such as herbs, diet, and lifestyle changes to promote healing and balance. It emphasizes the use of natural substances and minimal use of drugs, surgery or other invasive methods.
Preventative care: Ayurveda places a strong emphasis on preventative care, promoting healthy habits and lifestyle choices to prevent disease and maintain wellness.
Mind-body connection: Ayurveda recognizes the connection between the mind and body and encourages the use of practices such as yoga and meditation to promote balance and well-being.
Root cause focus: Ayurveda focuses on identifying and treating the root cause of a disease or condition, rather than just addressing symptoms.
Emphasizes self-care: Ayurveda encourages patients to take an active role in their own health and well-being through self-care practices such as yoga, meditation, self-massage and herbal remedies, rather than relying solely on medical treatments.

The number of sessions and the frequency of sessions will vary depending on the individual case and the specific health concerns being addressed. Some patients may see improvement after just one or two sessions, while others may need a longer course of treatment.
For chronic health conditions, a series of regular consultations over several months may be necessary to see results. For acute conditions, a shorter course of treatment may be sufficient.
The frequency of sessions will also depend on the specific treatment plan and the patient's needs. Some patients may need to come in for weekly or bi-weekly sessions, while others may only need to come in once a month or less.
It's important to keep in mind that Ayurveda is a holistic approach, and it focuses on the root cause of the disease, so it may take some time to see results. It's also important to note that Ayurveda also encourages self-care practices and lifestyle changes as a part of the treatment plan, which also plays a role in achieving results.
