What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda means "the science of life" in Sanskrit, an ancient language of India. Ayurveda is one of the oldest and most respected forms of medicine in the world. It is the practice of keeping the body healthy through natural and holistic methods. This includes diet &nutrition, lifestyle and herbal medicines as well as massage and relaxation and lineage-based spiritual practices. Ayurvedic medicine focuses not only on physical well-being, but also on senses, soul and mind wellbeing as well. In this way, it helps promote overall wellness by addressing both our inner and outer selves.

According to the ancient texts-Ayurveda has been downloaded in deep meditation more than five thousand years ago, a lot of science facts that the modern medicine has discovered only within the last 100 years has been known for Ayurvrdic practitioner lineages for thousands of years.

Who is Ayurveda for

Ayurvedic medicine is said to be good for people of all ages and backgrounds because it addresses the whole body rather than just specific symptoms.

Ayurveda looks at each person as a whole to treat the underlying causes of illness and restore balance to the body, mind, senses and soul.

The fundamental concept of Ayurveda is that all aspects of the human being are interconnected, and that a state of health and well-being can be achieved and maintained by balancing both the physical and mental constitutions along with senses and spiritual well being.

There are no magic pills and quick short-term results in Ayurveda, it takes patience and commitment to achieve and maintain sustainable, real and lasting relief from a wide range of conditions.

Our approach with clients

The Ayurvedic approach is to find the connections between each one of our body's tissues with our mind, senses and soul and the connection of that with our environment around us to create harmony in our life so, therefore, we can thrive rather than just survive. We will help you achieve this through recommending changes to your diet and lifestyle habits and by providing specific medicinal herbal formulas for your needs. (Ahara, Vihara & Aushadi)

During the consultation you will be asked many specific and well-organized questions including your medical history, dietary habits, elimination process, lifestyle and more. This information is used to help connect the dots together to identify the root causes of your condition so that the most appropriate treatment recommendations can be made.

Our goal is to address the imbalances and disharmony of the Gunnas (qualities of the mind), doshas (three main forces in the body), the Agni (the 17 types of digestive fire) the Srotas (the 14 channels) the 7 Dhatus (tissues) etc.
